5 Tips for Improving Your CCTV Security Setup

February 10th, 2020 | by Joslyn Alderson | in Security Advice |    1

Your home security system should be effective and powerful. Here are the top 5 tips on how to improve your CCTV security setup.

1. Have home or business monitoring services

The best way to get excellent service from your security camera system is to ensure it is monitored during the day and at night, 24/7. This kind of service gives you satisfaction because there is always someone who is available to respond to an alarm.

2. Cover your windows too, not just your doors

Big windows, especially the ones at the ground level, require enhanced video to make sure that they are protected as well. You will see someone entering your home or business if you have angled your CCTV camera properly on all the windows.

3. Make sure that the alignment is right

You should check the alignment of your CCTV cameras at regular intervals. Ensure that they are directed to essential areas, like a foot or two away from the door and at about five to six feet high. We recommend that you don’t attach them directly to the door!

4. Buy doorbell cameras

If cameras don't work well enough for you, then invest in doorbell cameras. These will help you to see who is at your door before you to open it. A door camera captures useful video before a thief tries to break in.

5. Use the remote applications

The remote apps help you to check your camera’s functionality and enable you to know what is going on at home or business at a specific time.
